Mentorship

Mentors

  1. I want to become a mentor.  How do I sign up?

Welcome to the family!  Simply go to the mentorship page, and scroll to the bottom and click the “become a mentor” link.  You will be asked to fill out a short profile, select your top 3 skills, and send us a brief description of why you want to become a mentor.  Once received, we will notify you of your selection into the program, and if selected we will ask for you to send a professional high quality head-shot for use on the site along with additional information.  Once your profile is setup, it will appear on the mentorship page and you are ready to go!

  2. I am a Mentor; how/when do I receive payment?

Upon completion of your scheduled time/hours with your mentee’s package, payment will be released to the account/card you have put on file in your profile.  The scheduling program (what was it called?) will help monitor the hours as well.

  3. How often do I need to schedule sessions with my mentee?

It’s completely up to you!  The beauty of the mentorship program is that you can plan sessions with your mentee based on both of your availabilities and needs.  A mentee maybe looking for a consistent time/date every week, or may want to use their time in concentrated doses based on their needs.  Either way, you are flexible to plan things based on your schedules together.  The only “requirement” is that you meet the required hours per month based on the specific package selected.

  4. Can I offer advice on topics outside of my 3 highlighted in the profile?

Yes!  You can feel free to offer any additional advice that you feel warranted or that they ask for.  The time is yours to utilize with your mentee as needed.  However, you do need to make sure to focus on your top 3 skills selected as that is what the mentee is choosing you for.  Outside of that, mentor away!

  5. I need to cancel my scheduled session last second.  What do I do?

Simply log on and de-select your scheduled time.  It will ask briefly why for you to explain so your mentee will be aware as well.  Then you can reschedule a new time with your mentee.  Please give them as much advanced notice as possible; they will be asked to do the same to respect your time.

  6. My mentee has canceled on me multiple times…what next?

If a mentee has canceled their scheduled appointment with you on 3 or more occasions, please contact us. We will then reach out to the mentee to find out why, and they will be deducted those scheduled hours from their package.  We understand that emergencies, life, and patients can bring up unexpected changes, but both of your times and schedules do need to be respected as well.

  7. How many Mentees am I allowed to have at one time?

The maximum number of mentees you can have at one time are 5.  This is to try and ensure sufficient 1 on 1 time and overall quality of experience for your mentees.  As soon as one or more of your sessions are completed, you will be eligible again for further matches.

  8. Can I give an additional package to my mentee after our package is completed?

Yes, you can have the mentee buy a new package to continue with you; however, if there are others who are looking and/or waiting to work with you, then your mentee may have to wait until space re-opens.

  9. My mentee wants to have a colleague/partner sit in on the session.  What do I do?

The FSG mentorship program is designed for 1 on 1 mentorship to provide the best experience possible.  Therefore, having multiple people on your call is not allowed.

Mentee

  1. How do I choose my mentor?

Simple!  Browse through the profiles, find the mentor whose skills match best for what you are searching for, click on their profile and select which package you want.  Once you select and complete payment, your mentors contact information will be sent to you, and yours to them.  Use our scheduling tool on the site to setup your first session, and you are set!

  2. How will I know if my mentor has available spots?

Mentors who are available will be marked in “Green”, and those who are currently at their maximum allowed capacity will be marked in “Red”.  You are still able to open and browse that mentors profile, and you can also request to be placed on a wait-list if desired.  Meanwhile, you can browse and select another mentor from our team.

  3. How many mentors can I sign up for at one time?

To allow for all potential mentees to have the same opportunities to work with mentors, we can only allow mentees to work with a maximum of 2 mentors at the same time.

  4. What if my mentor cancels my scheduled session?

If a mentor has canceled their scheduled appointment with you on 3 or more occasions, please contact us. We will then reach out to the mentor to find out why, and your hours will not be deducted from your package.  We understand that emergencies, life, and patients can bring up unexpected changes, but both of your times and schedules do need to be respected as well.

  5. Can I ask for guidance on topics outside of my mentors top 3 skills?

Yes!  You can feel free to ask for any additional advice that you want.  The time is yours to utilize with your mentor as needed.  However, you do need to make sure to focus on your mentors top 3 skills selected as that is what they have chosen to focus on.  Outside of that, as long as they are comfortable, then ask away!

  6. Can I have a colleague sit with me for one of my sessions?

The FSG mentorship program is designed for 1 on 1 mentorship to provide the best experience possible.  Therefore, having multiple people on your call is not allowed.

  7. I want to upgrade from a gold to a platinum package.  Can I do this without losing my existing package?

Yes.  If you want to upgrade your package, you can select the mentor package you purchased and click the “upgrade” option.  This will allow you to have extended time and a continued experience with your mentor.  However, packages cannot be reduced from platinum to gold.

  8. I have purchased a package and no longer want to continue.  Do I receive a refund?

We are sorry to hear that you want to end a mentor package.  Unfortunately, after the initial 15 minute “meet and greet” session with your mentor, your first scheduled session will signal your commitment to the package and no refund can be given at that time.  However, if after your "meet and greet” you decide you don’t want to work with that mentor, you cancel your package for a full refund and/or select a different mentor to work with.

Sponsors

  1. Our company wants to become a FSG sponsor.  How do we sign up?

Fantastic!  Please click on the sponsor tab on the home page.  Once inside, select the “Become a sponsor” link.  There will a short application there to fill in your company information, sponsor package, and a brief description of why you want to become a sponsor.  Once completed, a member of our team will reach out to schedule a time to connect.  Once completed, your company logo will be highlighted on our website along with whatever special package being offered, with a direct link to contact information.

  2. What options do we have as sponsors?

There will be three different packages offered for our sponsors.  You can select which package you want based off the descriptions for each.

  3. What do we have to offer in our sponsor packages?

The decision of what to offer is yours!  However, it has to be something of clear value for our visitors to consider.
